Settlement

Settlement is the day ownership legally transfers — your lawyer pays the balance, the title transfers, and you get the keys.

Between unconditional and settlement, your lawyer completes final searches, you arrange insurance from settlement day (banks require it), and you do a pre-settlement inspection to confirm the property's condition and chattels. Settlement commonly happens 4–8 weeks after agreement, but it's negotiable — longer settlements can suit renovation planning or tenant transitions.
