Code compliance certificate (CCC)

A CCC is the council's confirmation that consented building work was completed in line with the consent — the closing document of the building consent process.

A missing CCC on past work is common and consequential: banks may decline lending, insurers may exclude cover, and you inherit the problem on purchase. For new builds, the CCC (plus title issue) typically triggers final payment and settlement. Check CCC status on every consent in the property file.
