Kyron is a property entrepreneur and the CEO of Wealth Mentor. Investing in New Zealand property since 2012, from flips and minor developments to lease options in the Netherlands, his edge is the deal itself. He has trained upwards of 50 students from Bluff to Whangarei to find and make deals of their own.
Kyron's property journey started with buying his grandmother's old house at the age of 22. Falling in love with property, Kyron made the decision to quit his job on the oil rigs and jump into property full time, working as a licensed property finder. He has been investing in New Zealand property since 2012, with most of his personal deals done in his home town of Paihia and in Auckland, where he now lives.
Kyron describes himself as a property entrepreneur more than a property investor: he no longer maintains a buy-and-hold portfolio, because his edge has always been the deal itself. Across his career he has done buy and hold, flipped properties, taken projects through resource consent to sell, and completed minor developments, and he's applied creative strategies internationally, running lease options in the Netherlands and rent-to-rent deals in Indonesia.
Having been a mentor with Wealth Mentor since 2015, first as a contractor and then as owner, Kyron has trained upwards of 50 students from Bluff to Whangarei. He considers himself a generalist: rather than going deep on one strategy or one market, he's built a solid working knowledge of markets right around the country and of every strategy in the toolkit. That breadth is exactly what lets him walk into any city, learn its nuances within a day, and spot the opportunities many locals miss.
When markets change, Kyron changes with them. His belief is simple: there is always a way to make money through property. You just need to learn how to read the market and spot the opportunity.
Making deals, not finding themHow to create a deal where others see nothing: negotiation, structure, and vendor problem-solving.
Reading any marketHow to learn a new city's nuances fast and spot the opportunities the locals miss.
Creative strategiesLease options, rent-to-rent, and the approaches mainstream educators don't teach.
Value-add playsFlips, resource consents to sell, and minor developments: manufacturing gains instead of waiting for them.
Running the numbersAnalysing a deal properly so it stands up before the offer goes in, not after.
Doing more with lessGetting unstuck when capital is tight, with a no-excuses path forward from wherever you're starting.
Kyron's years as a property finder taught him that deals are made, not found. Add the philosophy of his own mentor, Steve McKnight ("Don't tell me what you can't do, tell me what you can do") and you get Kyron's approach: when he looks at a property, the question is never just "does this deal work?" but "how do we make this deal work?" It's the out-of-the-box thinking he's known for, and it's how he helps students who feel stuck with a lack of resources find and execute strategies that mainstream educators don't teach.
Kyron takes a no-BS approach to mentoring: results-driven, direct answers, honest feedback. He's not one to sugarcoat it, and he's not who you go to for a cuddle. What he brings instead is a no-excuses attitude: anything is possible if you put in the work.
Because ultimately, Kyron's goal is to teach you how to fish rather than give you one. His students walk away with the skills to find, analyse, and execute deals themselves. He can't do it for them, and he wouldn't want to. It's a mindset he didn't pick up from a book: in his spare time, Kyron runs ultra marathons, where the only way to the finish line is one unglamorous step at a time. He mentors the same way.
